4.Club Rules

Membership of the NT Water Ski Association (Darwin Ski Club) is mandatory for local residents of Darwin (who live <100km from the Club premises) who wish to frequent the Club's premises. This is in accordance with the NT Liquor License Act 2008. The membership year runs in accordance with the financial year with members given until the end of September to renew their membership.Committee

Membership Fees as of 29/11/2009  15 Month membership now available - valid until 30th June 2011

Social Single Membership $40 + $5 nomination
Social Family Membership $45 + $10 nomination

Skiing Single Membership $55 + $5 nomination
Skiing Family Membership $60 + $10 nomination

Corporate Membership $5

The Club has 5 classes of membership; please refer to the NTWSA Constitution for full details:


1.Full member

Full membership will include the following:

a) Life Member

  1. Life Member means any person who has been a member for a period of seven consecutive years and has rendered outstanding service to the Association and has been elected by a two-thirds majority of members present and voting at an Annual General Meeting.
  2. A Life Member shall have all the privileges of Full members but shall be exempt from the payment of annual subscriptions.

b) Skiing Member - Family or Single

  1. A skiing member means a person who, upon appropriate application and on payment of the prescribed fee, is a person accepted by the Committee as a Skiing member.
  2. A skiing member shall be eligible to serve on the Committee and vote in all matters concerning the Association.
  3. A skiing member has association rights with the Australian Water Skiing and Wake Boarding Federation.

c) Ordinary Member (Social) - Family or Single

  1. An Ordinary Member means a person who, upon appropriate application and on payment of the prescribed fee, is a person accepted by the Committee as an Ordinary Member.
  2. An Ordinary Member shall only be entitled to vote at the election of the Committee, but not other matters concerning the Association.

d) Family Membership

  1. Will mean married or defacto relationships and dependent children under the age of 18 or either partner in such relationship.


2. Junior Skiing Member

  1.  A Junior Skiing Member means any person under the age of 18 years who, upon appropriate application, is a person accepted by the Committee as a Junior Skiing Member.
  2. A Junior Skiing Member shall have no right to vote at any meeting or hold any office in the Committee.

3. Corporate Member

  1. A Corporate Member means any person who belongs to a corporate group that is entitled to this category of membership and upon appropriate application and on payment of the prescribed fee, is a person accepted by the Committee as a member.
  2. No Corporate Member may vote at any meeting of the Association nor hold office in the Committee.
  3. Corporate Members are entitled to sign the Visitor's Book in the Association's premises.


4. Affiliate Member

  1. An Affiliate Member means any person who shows proof of current membership of an affiliated club.
  2. An Affiliate Member is not entitled to vote at the election of the Committee.
  3. Affiliate Members are entitled to sign the Visitor's Book in the Associations Premises.

5. Honorary Member

  1. An Honorary Member is any person over the age of 18 years who provides evidence to the satisfaction of the Committee that they reside more than 100km from the premises.
  2. An honorary member shall be entitled to membership of the Club for a period not greater than one month.
  3. An honorary member shall not be entitled to vote at any meeting of the Association, hold any office in the Committee or sign-in guests to the Club premises.

Committee:

The Committee of the NT Water Ski Association is elected each year by the members of the Association and is administered on a purely voluntarily basis. The Committee meets every fortnight and is working hard to establish the Club as the home of water sports in Darwin at one of the best venues in Darwin.
